Clear acrylic sheet is a transparent thermoplastic homopolymer, more commonly known by the brand name Plexiglas. This material is used as an impact-resistant alternative to glass. It is especially suitable in cases where high impact resistance is not needed. Acrylic sheet or plexiglass was first produced in 1928 and five years later it was mass marketed by Rohm and Haas.
