Transparent acrylic sheet is a transparent thermoplastic homopolymer, better known by the trade name Plexiglas. This material is used as an impact-resistant alternative to glass. It is especially suitable in cases where high impact resistance is not needed. Acrylic sheet or Acrylic was first produced in 1928 and five years later it was mass marketed by Rohm and Haas.
